For the third time in a row, SPEY has scooped the title of best PR agency in whisky at the Icons of Whisky Scotland Awards, proving that when it comes to uisge-beatha we know what we’re talking about.

 

Rooted in malt whisky country, we’re surrounded by distilleries and we’re honoured to work with some of the best whisky brands in the world – from the world’s top names to new and emerging distilleries.

The unveiling of The GlenDronach’s 50 Year Old, telling a story of ‘rare dedication’ over the last half a century. With a total reach of over 169m, a global virtual launch event and even a spot on ITV’s Love Your Weekend, we brought the cult sherry bomb to the world.

Finn Thomson Whisky, a historic family owned business in possession of one of Scotland’s rarest private cask collections, asked us to launch their brand and mark the uncasking of their debut collection with an old and rare The Glenlivet. We organised an intimate media trip on the bank of the Tay centred around the family’s 300 year connection to the water of life, and secured coverage in top whisky titles.

The biggest whisky event of its kind, Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, returned in-person with a bang in the spring. Visitors from 29 countries across the world travelled to Speyside to take part in over 550 events. We raised awareness of the event to encourage wider tourism to the area with media guests from home and abroad, resulting in bumper coverage across print and broadcast media.

Towering 40 metres above the edge of Leith’s western Harbour, the UK’s first vertical whisky distillery is currently under construction. Founded by lifelong friends, Ian Stirling and Paddy Fletcher, the £12m Port of Leith Distillery is set to be the biggest tourist attraction in Leith for decades. SPEY was enlisted to ensure Port of Leith Distillery made waves in the media ahead of its official opening in Spring 2023. After the distillery completed its fourth round of crowdfunding, raising £2m in a record three hours, we were straight on the case securing prolific business coverage, helping to build excitement as one of the most high profile distillery launches of 2023.
