Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

At SPEY, we are committed to high standards of ethical and governance arrangements in respect of impartiality, integrity and objectivity in managing our business and activities. We have a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery, and support the UK Government’s objectives to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking.

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains or any part of our business. We do not enter into business with any organisation, which knowingly supports, or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude or forced or compulsory labour.

As an equal opportunities employer, we’re also committed to creating and ensuring a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for our people. Our recruitment and people management processes are designed to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK.

Our Business and Supply Chain

SPEY is a communications agency with an average of 14 staff split over two offices. The company is wholly owned by Jennifer Robertson and is a company limited by shares.

As a professional service provider we do not deal in obtaining goods or services from oversees but in selling our services to clients, the majority of which are based in the UK. When we are sourcing secondary services in the UK, these tend to be other creative services such as photography and videography.

We aim to build relationships with our suppliers to ensure they comply with our values and that they are aware of our commitment to protect human rights and the environment. As part of our procurement processes, we require all of our suppliers to comply with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act.

Our Policies

Doing business in an ethical and responsible manner is already enshrined within SPEY policies and procedures and in particular those referenced below help to ensure that Slavery and Human Trafficking do not occur within SPEY or its supply chains.

  • Ethics Policy Statement
  • Dignity at Work Policy
  • Supplier Code of Conduct
  • Supplier Policy

Due Diligence

By thoroughly vetting and working with trusted suppliers we ensure our supply chain and our business practises are compliant with both law and our internal policies. We also conduct due diligence on potential clients to ensure their values and ethics align with our own.

Risk Management

Given the nature of our business SPEY does not consider that there is a significant risk of Slavery and Human Trafficking within its supply chain or its own business and no instances have ever been identified by SPEY.

SPEY will continue to maintain high standards of culture and ethics. SPEY will identify improvements by reviewing its supplier engagement policies, contracts and due diligence processes to continnually monitor the risk of slavery and Human Trafficking

Training

We will ensure our staff involved in procurement activity are aware of and follow modern slavery procurement guidance on gov.uk
